From my old @SUGELITE Twitter page, can’t really say this is how I feel NOW but, like Josh Peas said…”since September 09’” and beyond…been trying to tell people about Lil’ B. Now look at him. Stupid buzz, movement, and fans. Fuck wit me, I been callin’ shit before it happens since birth. Matter of fact, I told my Mom to name me Danny in one of her dreams.
Complex: “Switching topics, one of the hottest rappers right now is Rick Ross. One of your recent tweets read: “Who are you ? Rick Ross, Big Meech or Larry Hoover ? The rap game is like halloween every day ?”
Freddie Gibbs: [Laughs.] That’s real man. That dude makes good records, but I just can’t support no bold-faced lying on records. I guess he’s entertaining people. It’s like a movie, like Scarface. He can have that fake lane. I’ll stay in the real lane. We got a non-fiction lane of rap, that’s how I’m looking at it now. So you got that fiction lane over there where they’re doing all them. I do the non-fiction, the autobiography, the real shit. It’s all good. Shit like that just make it easier for me to stand out, and easier for me to put my work in to be highly respected. I’ll never ever fabricate nothing or act like I’m something that I’m not or try to be another nigga. I can’t do that. I just think you gotta respect the streets and respect this Midwest culture. I mean you can’t really trip on him yelling names out. This the same dude that told you he knew Noriega when he first came out, so…

Nothing really needs to be said but, I grew up on CLASSICS. Not easily impressed with music these days, and I STAY listening to music that’s 10+ years old. It’s just better, period. JUVENILE /// “Ride With Me”

Neither bro. In all honesty, the new music I heard makes the older tracks sound like crumbs. They’ve got joints that have that aggression and bounce like Broc, but at the same time…they have records with a good chance to “chart”. Not forgetting their roots, of course there were a few songs that take you back to that genuine hip-hop shit. Like Tribe almost…Beats & Rhymes album. Whatever you’re imagining right now, as to what it sounds like…think BIGGER. It’s greater than whatever you’re thinking.
*Had the chance to shoot PAC DIV the other day in the studio…what an experience that was. Shot them before, never in the studio…but in all honesty, I think it was more about the music. It was a chance for them to get some visuals out there but, it was also a chance for them to let an outside ear…hear what they’ve been doing. There’s a lot of doubters out there right now about PAC DIV…even myself at times wondered what the hell was going on. Likewise said something yesterday that should calm everyone down a little bit though, and that was…”we’re dealing with forces greater than us (the label), and trust me we want it out just as much as anybody else.” I feel that. I understand that. I can’t wait. I was fully impressed yesterday, for I heard their greatest work EVER. I heard the growth in their flow, the progression in their music, and saw the level they’re trying to take it. To be honest, it’s gonna shake up a lot of things on the West Coast, throughout the nation, and even make some noise overseas. Wow. You can forget about it dropping on October 12th, and for good reason. The features on this album, from whom I was told…is frankly ridiculous. It’ll be more than worth the wait. “Grown Kid Syndrome” - January. *peep more pics on www.topshelfjunior.com / Twitter- @weshootpeople / and lastly…my Facebook.
