The Roach Coach.
Within the past three days, I’ve been hearing several mentions about the infamous Roach Coach. My boy Cas said he went to one in Koreatown the other day, 2am, and ordered a burrito. End result ? Said his stomach and body paid the price. Another friend of mine Khalil, said he did the same…a burrito from the Roach Coach. He said it was amazing, tasted great…but later that night, his bowel movements were like no other. A female friend of mine Bri, in the Bay Area…said she was thinking of getting a burrito from a Roach Coach for lunch today. All I could think of were the possible consequences.
What is it about the Roach Coach that intrigues me so much ?! How did it get that name anyway ? Did somebody see multiple roaches coming out of one, what ?! And how is it that, I can eat a ton of street tacos from all over LA, never get sick, but friends of mine get a burrito from the truck and it’s game over ?!
Is it the meat ? Is it how they store, cook, and season the meat…? Maybe it’s how they preserve it and keep it fresh. Maybe that’s the problem. I have to get to the bottom of this. Working in the film industry, we eat from catering trucks all day long, breakfast, lunch, and dinner…and I’ve never gotten sick once. The truck on movie sets is essentially the same as a Roach Coach on Florence…but something else HAS to be different. Who knows ?!
