Relationships 101: not exactly.
Just got a phone call from a female friend of mine, a random call at that…but not one I was mad at. We were somewhat involved in college, somewhat involved after college, but now just keep it cordial. That’s how we met, that’s how it started, that’s where we are. Funny thing is, I have several female friends like that…walking the fence between sexually attracted and involved with and/or simply being platonic friends. At what point does it become a full-fledged relationship ?! Is it once sex is had, is it holding hands (lol-hate that shit), is it kissing, what defines it ?! A relationship ?
Somebody told me the other day that I’m never getting married. Hmm, that’s an odd thing to say. Im assuming it’s not because I’m ugly, because I know I’m the 10,765th finest dude on the planet…but maybe it’s because of this so-called “rep” I have. Not being able to settle down (not true), having too many female friends, and being a player (who comes up with this stuff). Me personally, I’d love to get married. Not at the moment tho, but at some point, who doesn’t want the marriage, the house, the kids ?! Sorry…no joint bank accounts.
I say all that to say this…what defines a relationship these days ?! With marriage becoming more and more like a fast food restaurant, what defines the status of a relationship/dating/fucking/talking -whatever you wanna call it. Since day one my practice has been, to date a woman for 3-months before I can even think about saying the word girlfriend. Don’t get me started on the tests she has to take.
