Came across this picture the other day on the net and it immediately jumped out at me. From the objects color, a blue bandana, to what it represents, is very powerful. The thing is, it’s tied in the shape of a peace ribbon, and that act alone meant a lot to me. Growing up in LA, gangs and everything that goes along with it is a part of you, whether you know it or not. In some way, shape, or form…at some point in life, you’ve dealt with a gang, or gangs, or know somebody in a gang, or heard about things happening with gangs. That’s just the way it is. To finally have peace in this city would be an amazing thing but it’ll never happen. This picture let me know and reminded me, somebody, somewhere…was thinking about another option…PEACE.
